Corvallis Corkscrew Aerobatics Contest, starts at 9 a.m. Friday, ends at 1 p.m. Saturday, Corvallis Municipal Airport, 5695 SW Airport Ave. The 9th annual regional aerobatics competition. Free for spectators. See here.

Exhibit Opening Reception – Personal Mythology, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Giustina Gallery, LaSells Stewart Center, 875 SW 26th St. Fifty artists explore the inner narratives, archetypes, and symbolic language that shape their personal identity and creative vision. On display through Aug. 26. See here.

Graand Kinetic Challenge - Land Race at Crystal Lake Park and Sand Dune Challenge at Benton County Fairgrounds. A 2-day race where human-powered, pedal-pushed, kinetic art sculpture vehicles compete over a course that runs throughout Corvallis, traversing over land, over sand, through mud, and floating on the Willamette River to compete for such prizes as Graand Champion, Best Engineering, Best Artistry, Best Pageantry and even the Cuddly Teddy Bear Award. Saturday’s schedule: See pageantry performances and judging from 10 – 11:15 a.m. at Crystal Lake Sports Park; the Land Race follows, starting at 12:15 p.m.; and racers will arrive approximately from 12:45 – 1:30 p.m. at the Benton County Fairgrounds parking lot for the Sand Dune Challenge. Graand Kinetic Challenge - Mud Bog Challenge at Crystal Lake Park and Willamette River Float. Sunday’s schedule: The kinetic sculptures will traverse the Mud Bog Challenge from 10 am. – 12 p.m. at Crystal Lake Sports Park; the sculptures will then enter the water at the Willamette Boat Landing around 12:30 – 1 p.m., traveling north on the Willamette to Michael’s Landing; and a finish line/meet & greet at Riverfront Commemorative Park will take place around 2 – 3:30 p.m. See here for more details.
