FRIDAY, JULY 11
Aquatic Invasive Species Paddle and Pull, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Michael’s Landing (Corvallis) to Hyak Park (Albany). Join Willamette Riverkeeper, Benton Soil & Water Conservation District, and Oregon Parks & Recreation Department to help hand pull aquatic invasive species while paddling on the Willamette River in the Corvallis to Albany reach. Bring your own boat, or reserve a seat. See here to register.
Philomath Frolic & Rodeo, Skirvin Park, 479 S. 13th St., Philomath. Friday’s events include the Chalk Round-Up from 9 – 11 a.m. at the Philomath Community Library; no pre-registration is required and chalk is provided. The Marys Peak Search and Rescue BBQ Chicken Lunch is at 4:30 p.m. on the rodeo grounds, and a cornhole tournament takes place at 5 p.m. The rodeo starts at 7 p.m. See here for all the details.
Shop at the Dock, 9:30 a.m., 10 a.m., and 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 11 and Saturday, July 12, Dock 5, Port of Newport, 600 SE Bay Blvd., Newport. Join Oregon Sea Grant experts on a guided walk along the commercial docks and learn where to find local, in-season seafood, how it’s caught, and how to buy it directly from coastal ports. Teen Tournament: Mario Kart, 1:30 – 3:30 p.m., main meeting room, Corvallis-Benton County Public Library, 645 NW Monroe Ave. Race against your friends or join the crowd as a spectator, and enjoy snacks at this Mario Bros themed event for grades 6 – 12. Sign-ups for the tournament's bracket will be in-person on a first-come first-served basis, and spots are limited. See here.
Jackson Street Summer Outreach Event, 3 – 6 p.m., Eric Scott McKinley Skate Park, 648 SW 2nd St., Corvallis. Mobile roller rink, arts and crafts, DJ’s, BBQ and cold drinks. For youth ages 10-24 to gather in a positive social space, interact with their peers, and hang out with the Jackson Street Youth team. See here.
International Food Flair, 5 – 9 p.m., Imagine Coffee, 5462 SW Philomath Blvd. Join Corvallis for Refugees and Imagine Coffee for a culinary journey featuring delicious cuisines made by refugee neighbors from Afghanistan, Guatemala, Ukraine, Syria, and Venezuela. Philomath Frolic & Rodeo, Skirvin Park, 479 S. 13th St., Philomath. Saturday’s events include the Philomath Lions Club Breakfast from 7 – 10 a.m. on the rodeo grounds. The Frolic 5K Family Fun Run starts at 9:45 a.m.; registration fee is $10 for adults and teens, and free for kids 12 and under. The Grand Parade is at 10 a.m. and travels west along Applegate St., 15th St. and Cedar St., to the rodeo grounds. The Marys Peak Search and Rescue BBQ Chicken Lunch is at 11 a.m., the Timber Sports Competition is at 2 p.m., and a cornhole tournament takes place at 4 p.m. The rodeo starts at 7 p.m. See here.

Exhibit Opening - "SAQA Biophilia: Threads of Natural Wonder,” 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Philomath Museum, Moreland Gallery, 1101 Main St., Philomath. A collection of quilts inspired by the wonder of nature on loan from Studio Art Quilt Associates. The exhibit will be on display through Sept. 13. See here.

Historic Carousel and Museum’s Fine Art Market, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., 503 W. 1st Ave., Albany. A showcase of art, sculpture, handmade jewelry, and more from local artists. See here.
Wade Hardware and Tarweed Folk School Grand Opening, 12 – 6 p.m., 400 SW 2nd St. Celebrate the grand opening of Wade Hardware, and the re-opening of Corvallis’ oldest commercial building, formerly Robnett’s Hardware. The store will be open to the public and the open house will be in collaboration with Tarweed Folk School, which has a new home and classroom in the same space. There will be demonstrations in woodworking, fiber arts, and more. See here.
2nd Saturdays at TAC – Fun with Watercolor Portraits, 1 – 4 p.m., The Arts Center, 700 SW Madison Ave. Participants will explore playful watercolor techniques to create expressive portraits using vibrant colors and guided prompts. Town Hall Meeting with Benton County Commissioner Gabe Shephard, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m., Tunison Community Room, 365 SW Tunison Ave. Get to know the county’s newest commissioner, ask questions and voice concerns. The event is free and open to the public. See here.
Majestic Theatre Presents Outdoor Shakespeare – As You Like It, 6 p.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday, Bruce Starker Arts Park, 4485 SW Country Club Dr. Bring a picnic and journey to the Forest of Arden with one of William Shakespeare’s most charming casts of sassy clowns, melancholy lords, lovers in disguise, twitterpated shepherds, banished dukes, and also a wrestler. Kids activities start at 5 p.m. Music is from 6 – 6:30 p.m. The show begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door; kids 12 and under free. Food and wine vendors on site.
