Aquatic Invasive Species Paddle and Pull, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Michael’s Landing (Corvallis) to Hyak Park (Albany). Join Willamette Riverkeeper, Benton Soil & Water Conservation District, and Oregon Parks & Recreation Department to help hand pull aquatic invasive species while paddling on the Willamette River in the Corvallis to Albany reach. Philomath Frolic & Rodeo, Skirvin Park, 479 S. 13th St., Philomath. Friday’s events include the Chalk Round-Up from 9 – 11 a.m. at the Philomath Community Library; no pre-registration is required and chalk is provided. Jackson Street Summer Outreach Event, 3 – 6 p.m., Eric Scott McKinley Skate Park, 648 SW 2nd St., Corvallis. Mobile roller rink, arts and crafts, DJ’s, BBQ and cold drinks. For youth ages 10-24 to gather in a positive social space, interact with their peers, and hang out with the Jackson Street Youth team. See here.

Philomath Frolic & Rodeo, Skirvin Park, 479 S. 13th St., Philomath. Saturday’s events include the Philomath Lions Club Breakfast from 7 – 10 a.m. on the rodeo grounds. The Frolic 5K Family Fun Run starts at 9:45 a.m.; registration fee is $10 for adults and teens, and free for kids 12 and under. The Grand Parade is at 10 a.m. and travels west along Applegate St., 15th St. and Cedar St., to the rodeo grounds. Wade Hardware and Tarweed Folk School Grand Opening, 12 – 6 p.m., 400 SW 2nd St. Celebrate the grand opening of Wade Hardware, and the re-opening of Corvallis’ oldest commercial building, formerly Robnett’s Hardware. The store will be open to the public and the open house will be in collaboration with Tarweed Folk School, which has a new home and classroom in the same space. Majestic Theatre Presents Outdoor Shakespeare – As You Like It, 6 p.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday, Bruce Starker Arts Park, 4485 SW Country Club Dr. Bring a picnic and journey to the Forest of Arden with one of William Shakespeare’s most charming casts of sassy clowns, melancholy lords, lovers in disguise, twitterpated shepherds, banished dukes, and also a wrestler.
