Beavers, Blooms, and Bees at Bald Hill, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Visit stations along the trail to learn about beavers, observe beaver dams, explore a restored prairie in bloom, and discover the bees and other pollinators that make it home. Know Your Rights & Family Preparedness. The Corvallis Multicultural Literacy Center is hosting two very important community workshops: Know Your Rights (Saturday, May 10, 1 - 4 p.m.) and Family Preparedness (Tuesday, May 13th, 7 - 9 p.m.) in Corvallis (the address will be emailed 2 days prior to each event to everyone who registers). In Know Your Rights, learn the constitutional rights of immigrants and everyone in the United States, how to protect ourselves as a community, and to document violations of our rights. There will be some lecture time, role-plays, and community conversations. In Family Preparedness, review how to make a family safety plan in case a parent is suddenly unavailable due to an emergency. Participants will be able to ask questions of civil and immigration attorneys, and fill out a temporary delegation of parental rights to assign guardianship of their children to a trusted individual in case of emergency, should they want to.
