Recycling Presentation, 4 – 5 p.m., Allison Room, First Presbyterian Church, 114 SW 8th St. Oregon’s recycling system changes begin on July 1st. Benton County staff will give a presentation which will explain what is happening, why it is happening, and what you need to know to make the most of these much-needed improvements to the way we recycle. Play games, solve puzzles, and tackle wacky challenges exploring the environment, designing solutions, and imagining a brighter future. Presented by the Museum of Natural and Cultural History. Sampler Tour of Corvallis Museum, 2 p.m., Corvallis Museum, 411 SW 2nd St. Corvallis Museum features four galleries of exhibitions comprising art, artifacts, textiles, specimens, and more. Philomath Frolic & Rodeo Home Run Derby, 6 p.m., PYAC Ballfields, on the rodeo grounds, 479 S. 13th St., Philomath. A home-run competition with three brackets: men's, women's, and teen’s, plus a youth farthest hit competition for children 12 and under. There is a $10 registration fee per batter.

Philomath Frolic & Rodeo, Skirvin Park, 479 S. 13th St., Philomath. On Thursday, the Frolic Cornhole Tournament for youth, ages 0 – 17, will be at 5 p.m., and the Frolic Fish Rodeo will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The rodeo is at 7 p.m. See here for tickets and the complete schedule through Saturday.

Finding Corvallis has found a number of events that need pre-registration or tickets. Some of these are going fast!
JULY 19-20 — Volunteer to help with the Graand Kinetic Challenge. The annual event takes place July 19 and 20. Kinetic sculptures will race through the mud, on the river, and by road. See here for the volunteer opportunities and to sign-up to help.
JULY, AUG., AND SEPT. — Fifth Generation Sewing is offering Learn to Sew classes at Philomath City Park Community Hall in July, August and September. See here for the class descriptions, costs, and registration.
JULY — Tarweed Folk School. Summer classes are now open for registration. Taught by local educators and craftspeople, the mission of Tarweed Folk School is to tend to the land, ourselves, and each other through the sharing of practical arts and place-based knowledge in the heart of the Willamette Valley. AUGUST — Vina Moses Back to School Program. Each year, Vina Moses Center helps Benton County students prepare to start the school year with confidence. Enrollment is now open for the program, which takes place Aug. 1 – 28 in Corvallis, Aug. 7 in Alsea, and Aug. 27 in Monroe. See here for more information. Enrollment is required, call 541-753-1420.
JULY AND AUGUST — OSU Craft Center has classes open to the community in ceramics, sewing/fiber, glass arts, wood, and paper arts in July and August. See here.
JULY AND AUGUST — Starker Forests Summer Tours will hold tours on July 11, Forest Management Tour; July 25, Active Harvest Tour; Aug. 8, Mill Tour; and Aug. 22, Reforestation Tour. See here. Seats are limited. Call 541-929-2477 to register.

JULY 7 – 11 — 2025 Safety Town at the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis. Limited space is still available for the afternoon session from 1 – 4 p.m. Corvallis Safety Town educates children entering kindergarten about important safety topics including fire safety, dog safety, water safety and more. JULY 8-10 — Mega Sports Camp VBS 2025, 9 – 11:30 a.m., at Compassion Church in Corvallis. For ages 4 years through 5th grade (completed). See here.
JULY 11 - AUG 29 — C3 Writers Workshop, 10 a.m. – noon Fridays. Come share your writing and get reactions from your fellow participants. All forms welcome: poetry, short story, novel, memoir, fact or fiction, article, letter, etc. Publication advice given, if requested. Free, registration is required. JULY 12 — Flora & Fauna Field Day, OSU Soap Creek Beef Ranch. The Letitia Carson Legacy Project invites you to visit the land Letitia and David Carson first settled in Oregon. There will be four guided tours offered of the Carson Donation Land Claim and homestead site. Registration is required, see here.
JULY 14, 28 AND AUG. 11 — Create with Kids 5+ Summer Series. Free workshops to be held from 5:30 – 6:20 p.m. on July 14, July 28, and Aug. 11 at the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis. Presented by Linn Benton Community College Parent Education. See here to register.
JULY 14-17 — Oregon State Men’s Basketball Youth Day Camp, designed for 1st through 7th grades. See here for registration and cost.
JULY 18, PLUS MORE DATES IN AUGUST — Family Fun Fridays at Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport, July 18, Aug. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29. Join the Oregon Sea Grant Marine Education team for a combination of lab and field experiences. Cost is $15 per participant (ages 4 and above) per 2-hour program and pre-registration is encouraged. DUE JULY 18 — The Oregon State University College of Forestry is accepting public comment on a draft of its new management plan for the OSU-owned McDonald-Dunn Research Forest in the Coast Range foothills northwest of Corvallis. The 2025 McDonald-Dunn Forest Plan is the first full update of the forest’s management plan in 20 years. The plan is available for review and comments can be submitted online. JULY 21-25 — Exploring Color, 6 – 8 p.m., The Arts Center. Discover the dynamic world of color in this five-day workshop for adult artists, led by Eugene-based artist and educator Leah Wilson. Through a mix of hands-on experimentation and practical exercises, participants will explore how color behaves and interacts. Designed for artists working in any medium, Exploring Color fosters confidence, curiosity, and a deeper personal connection to color. Materials provided. The cost is $170. See here to register.
JULY 24-27 — Corvallis Celtic Festival ticketed events. On July 25, Open the Door for Three will play at 7 p.m. (with a pre-concert happy hour at 6 p.m.) at PRAx. Tickets are $25 - $32. On July 26, a variety of performers will play at Tyee Wine Cellars from 12:30 – 9 p.m. Tickets are $20, with children under 12 years free. See here for the links to purchase tickets.
JULY 24 — Fresh Flower Arranging Workshop, 6 – 8 p.m., 2 Towns Taproom. An Oregon-grown flower arranging workshop with Pami Monnette, the owner of County Line Flowers. Cost is $55 per person, ages 21+ only. See here for tickets.
JULY 25 — A Walk with Wildland Fire will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Corvallis Museum. Why do wildfires seem to be getting worse? John Bailey PhD, will walk us through our complex relationship with fire in Oregon landscapes, which has a rich fire ecology not fully appreciated until recently by Western science and management. DUE JULY 25 — Corvallis Fall Festival Young Artist Marketplace Applications due by July 25. Open to regional artists aged 8 through 18 years of age. The young artists must create any object sold at their booth at festival on Sept. 27-28, and items will be priced at $25 and under. See here to register.
DUE JULY 29 — City of Corvallis Streamside Plant Grant applications. the Streamside Plant Grant is available to support and incentivize landowners on or near streams to become better stewards of their property by increasing appropriate riparian vegetation and enhancing stream conditions. JULY 29 — Figure Drawing Session, 6 – 8 p.m., Corvallis Community Center, Willow Room. Support your creative practice through monthly figure drawing sessions hosted by The Arts Center. Uninstructed sessions offer a welcoming space for artists to sharpen their skills, experiment with new techniques, and build confidence in observational drawing. Each session features a live nude model and a range of timed poses. Join a growing community of artists dedicated to the practice of seeing and drawing. The cost is $25 per session, ages 18+. AUG 5 — OSU Organic Agriculture Field Day, Learn more about organic research with the Organic Agriculture Program Extension team at this free event that takes place from 3:30 – 7 p.m. Register here by Aug. 1.
AUGUST — Sunflower Summer Camp. A day camp for youth ages 6 – 12 years held from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Corvallis Multicultural Literacy Center. Play and learn art, science, history, and more from a multicultural group of teachers. Registration is still open for Week 2, Aug. 11 – 15, and Week 3, Aug. 18 – 22. See here.
AUG 11 – 15 — History Mystery Summer Camp, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., at the Philomath Museum. Campers will explore the challenges faced by traders, settlers, and Indigenous peoples as they traveled, traded, and adapted to life on the Oregon Trail. Cost is $275 per child. Campers should be entering 3rd, 4th or 5th grade in the fall. See here to register.
AUG 11 – 15 — OSU Choir Camp. An intensive five-day choral training experience specifically for students in 9th-12 grades. See here.
